Busy week

Our church is hosting the NW bible Conference for our fellowship.Sorry I missed a couple days,it's been busy around here with house guests and parties.Tomorrow we are coloring Easter eggs with these three kids and three more little girls.....we have seminars in the mornings and a service at night so egg coloring will be in the afternoon.hope your both having a great week :)

Much of our evening is spent here...sitting across from the kids while they do homework.  Our kid are so social neither likes to do homework in their room!!

Whatever arrangement Amelia managed of her bagel bites in her mouth is likely to never be replicated--it reminds me ever so slightly of Jack Nicholson's mouth when he played The Joker in one of the Batman movies! :)

We're back. Sigh.

On Monday we explored the beach at Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware. We rode bikes, hiked, climbed WWII lookout towers, collected sea shells, and pretty much had a blast. Three blissful days and nights together making memories. :)

I think I've already shared this...it's so embarrassing! that Amelia likes to sleep with her dog buddy on weekends...she camps in the laundry room.  I don't konw what happened here! I think she pulled stuff out of the dirty clothes basket to cover him up. and notice she is sleeping with a dog pillow and he is laying on a pink fuzzy pillow.  It's a twisted relationship I tell ya!

We'll be here tomorrow.

Although, unlike when this picture was taken 2 years ago, we won't be wearing our swimsuits. It's still pretty chilly around here. But we WILL be enjoying some time together as a family after a few really busy weeks.

Avery beaned Amelia one too many times with a snowball so I made him stand with his hands behind his back while she threw snow balls at him....I figure that makes up for the 5 year age difference....

Amelia has started softball...she's the youngest on her team and very inexperienced, but she makes up for it in enthusiasm and cuteness I think!

Reminiscing

This was almost two years ago!! And it's been even longer since I had coffee with Jody when she was living on Bainbridge Island and rehabbing that adorable house. (That was 12 years ago!) How I'd love to have coffee with you girls...

Bowling in Roseburg

The girls and I drove 3 hours south on I-5 and my brother drove north for an hour and we met at my sister Keri's house for the night.We all went bowling and played Apple to Apples.It was a really fun night :)

Farmers' Market Music

I  love this guy. He is playing rain or shine, snow or blistering heat, and he just kind of makes up the songs as he goes. Wish I'd started taping the girls dancing sooner. Evelyn saw a dollar blowing on the pavement and went to investigate. She put it in his guitar case. :)

Concert for Japan

We did 2 benefit concerts for Japan.the first one we only had 3 visitors and the second one was packed out.We raised $660 for the red cross and to filter water for the victims....a couple of our bands from church played and my exchange student played the piano.....

This is from last August when we went to the beach w/my brother's family and my parents for a few days. Alan and I are taking the girls to the beach for three days starting Palm Sunday--I'm so ready! It's been so cold, but even if we can't put on our bathing suits, it will still be SO good to be at the sea.

The Small Screen

I loved Jody's picture a while back of Avery and Amelia sharing a seat to watch TV in their dining room. Here's our Evelyn and Amelia sharing the rocker to watch the only screen right now on which we can play a DVD. Somewhere in the midst of my furniture-rearranging, the TV-VCR-DVD player got unhooked and we've never been able to get it right again. We can watch VHS tapes and TV, but no DVDs. Tonight Alan and I rented a movie from Red Box and watched it on the laptop (although we don't both fit in the rocker together.)

I'm back!

I worked three 14 hour days this week as the radio station arm of the ministry I work for had its annual on-air fundraiser. It was pretty amazing, actually. I was in what the station manager began calling "The Situation Room"--upstairs where all the information was being entered into the databases by me and four temps. My temps and I have three full days together this week to finish logging the info, and it's been really amazing to work alongside four people I'd never met before, who likely don't know the Lord, and seek to love and encourage them as people and colleagues. It's probably been a tough week for my family, and I look forward to a more normal schedule next week.

To celebrate time with my girls tonight, we went to the mall and rode the escalators. :)
